Check out these photos of the new reading room at Columbus Commons! The Friends have supplied the books and we hope you will enjoy reading at the new park. Join us for the grand opening and a special storytime Saturday, May 28 at noon. See www.columbuscommons.org for more details on the park and its events.

One hundred years ago, the Ohio Art League (OAL) held one of its first exhibitions at the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) and will return in May to celebrate its 100th Annual Spring Juried Exhibition. The library wide display will feature a variety of original works by some of Ohio’s leading artists. The selection by Todd Slaughter includes photography, oils, acrylics, sculpture, video and mixed media.

The Friends of the Library is proud to be a partner in sponsoring the OAL Annual Spring Exhibition. Please join us for the opening reception in the Main Library’s Carnegie Gallery (2nd Floor) on Thursday, May 12 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Todd Slaughter is a professor in the Department of Art’s sculpture program. He has held many solo and group exhibitions, both internationally and nationally. He is the recipient of several Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship awards, a NEA Individual Artist Fellowship, and a Greater Columbus Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship.
