Campaign 2010

Final Official Results for ISSUE 4:

FOR = 163,643 (65.66%)
AGAINST = 85,597 (34.34%)

Thanks to all of our Friends and supporters who canvassed neighborhoods, volunteered at our phone bank, participated in literature drops, put out a yard sign, and shared our message with friends and neighbors.

But most of all, thank you for casting your vote in support of your library.

It’s not like you need another incentive to get out and cast your vote in support of the library tomorrow (yes on Issue 4!), but Java’s – our coffee partner at the Main Library – is offering an Election Day special you can’t refuse:

All medium-sized Mochas or Lattes any flavor – hot, iced or frozen – will be just $1.00

It’s a win-win…vote to support your library, then visit the Main Library for this great Election Day deal.

Now that yard signs are in full bloom, it’s time to begin a bit of door-to-door outreach and provide households with important literature about our critical library levy. It’s another key element in our effort to get the word out and bolster support for Issue 4.

Our first group of neighborhoods includes Gahanna, Hilliard, Dublin, Clintonville, New Albany, Reynoldsburg, Groveport/Canal Winchester.  Please e-mail our canvassing coordinator, Terry Sharkey at terencesharkey@gmail.com for more information or to let him know where you would like to help.

THANK YOU for volunteering. Our success hinges on the invaluable efforts of friends like you!

Be sure to keep tabs on all campaign opportunities at our campaign website.

Keep Our Library Strong

As you may know, CML had to cut $11 million out of its budget recently due to state and local funding cuts. Branches are now closed on Sundays, hours of operation are shorter, and the materials budget was cut by half. CML needs ISSUE 4 to continue to be able to provide service to 8 million visitors per year.

Our volunteer coordinators may have contacted you and you may have even volunteered already. Thank you! Even if you have already volunteered or have made plans to volunteer, please take a minute to visit www.keepcmlstrong.org to register as a volunteer so that we have complete contact information for you. Doing so will help us to communicate with you most effectively. The site will also allow you to make a donation and sign up to recieve a yard sign.

Please help spread the word to your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers about www.keepcmlstrong.org and ISSUE 4. You can also become a fan of the keepcmlstrong Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.

Thank you for your support of CML!

Canvassing will start September 27. You can do that, right? Sign up by contacting Canvassing Coordinator Terry Sharkey at terencesharkey@gmail.com

Absentee ballot requests have been mailed by the Franklin County Board of Elections! If you don’t get one by September 7th and want to vote early, call the BOE. Regardless of when you vote, remember to VOTE FOR ISSUE 4 to Keep CML Strong!

The Issue 4 campaign needs several hundred volunteers to help with phone banking, direct mail, yard sign distribution, and canvassing. You can help by visiting www.keepcmlstrong.org and signing up to volunteer!
