Thanks to a generous donation by Dublin branch customer William Kinnard – and a matching gift from the Friends of the Library – a vibrant and fanciful mural will welcome visitors into the children’s area of the Dublin branch. The mural, which was painted on thin boards and installed in pieces to avoid scaffolding, will be revealed to the public as part of an unveiling ceremony on Wed., December 15 at 6:00 p.m.
Dublin branch customers and representatives from the Dublin Arts Council, library staff and Friends of the Library selected the local artists based on their bold use of color, inclusion of Ohio native animals, engaging elements from nursery rhymes, and promotion of letter knowledge.
Below is a sneak peek at a small section of the mural being installed by the artists.
