Library Store closes temporarily for renovations

Beginning today — Friday, April 18 — the Library Store at the Main Library will close temporarily for renovations. When completed, an enhanced Library Store will be lighter & brighter, and more welcoming for all visitors including those with strollers or wheelchairs. This renovation will last only for a few weeks and select merchandise will still be available during this time. Below is our renovation schedule:

  • Friday, April 18 — Library Store closes; however books will be sold as part of the lobby sale at the Circulation area at the Main Library.
  • Monday, April 28store partially reopens with reduced hours, selling merchandise (used books available for purchase at Circulation)
  • Thursday, May 15 — store resumes regular hours

Temporary hours from April 28 – May 14 will be:

  • Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1-4 p.m.

We appreciate your patience and patronage as we work to significantly enhance the Library Store experience.

  1. The library store is no more. What is in its place is a half empty trinket shop. I walked in, looked left and right and walked out. Strollers and wheelchairs can now get around a store that has an inventory that can be counted in a glance. The used books that were the bulk of the shop are gone. What remains is a sad table of travel guides. Too bad. The store was once a great place to browse.
