Annie Maude’s Café—in honor of Annie Maude Battelle, the first woman to serve on the Columbus Public Library Trustee Board—offers a meaningful extension of operator Freedom a la Cart’s mission-driven business that brings hope to survivors of human trafficking so they can build a new life of freedom and self-sufficiency.
The company believes giving women practical job skills and developing strong a work ethic is vital for creating a pathway to freedom, and has created a safe place where survivors can heal, learn, and grow as they prepare for sustainable employment within the community.
The library café menu offers some Freedom a la Cart favorites while introducing new cookies, sweet treats, and seasonal pastries. The café also offers library customers fresh grab-and-go snacks and espresso drinks featuring sustainable coffee from local roaster One Line Coffee.
The library café allows Freedom a la Cart to expand its workforce-training program to include point of sale operation, customer service education, and barista training—skills that broaden the trainees’ marketability and confidence.
Visit the café and help support cuisine with a cause.
